Oxlade Cafe

New Farm

OXLADE CAFE HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED.

Oxlade Cafe in New Farm boasts one of Brisbane's best views, overlooking the Brisbane River with 90 metres of grassy river frontage.

The dog-friendly cafe, found at Merthyr Park besides the Bowls Club, was created as a result of the Coronavirus crisis, to keep the staff of Events on Oxlade function centre employed.

The pop-up riverside cafe has proved popular with locals and visitors alike, with tables provided plus plenty of space to spread out on the lawn right on the banks of the Brisbane River.

A display cabinet is filled with gourmet pies and sausage rolls, sandwiches and salads, savoury and sweet muffins, delicious slices and flaky pastries like chocolate croissants.

On weekends, the cafe offers more substantial fare, from breakfast burritos (spicy chipotle eggs, black beans, roasted corn, rice, cheese, avocado and pico de gallo) to tasty burgers - Angus beef, karaage chicken, and house-smoked pulled pork.

In addition, the cafe features weekend specials such as beef asada tacos, souvlaki lamb gyros and beer-battered barramundi with crunchy fries.

Coffee on pour is roasted locally by Vivo, served along with superfood smoothies by Naked Berry, beer and wine.
