The Bush Pantry

Capalaba

Updated: Apr 16, 2024

The Bush Pantry Capalaba is a cafe nestled in amongst beautiful native bushlands, that offers an extensive menu, including all-day breakfast, brunch, lunch and high tea.

With bright and cosy seating indoors, as well as a large and spectacular deck that overlooks native bush, the cafe creates a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. If it’s a sunny day, you’re likely to have a bit of company whilst you dine on the deck, like that of a kookaburra, cockatoo and other beautiful wildlife that live in the surrounding area.

More than just a regular cafe, this not-for-profit provides supported employment for people with a disability. This empowers them by giving them the opportunity to learn new skills and gain experience in both the kitchen and around the cafe. The cafe is also fully wheelchair accessible, pram, pet and child-friendly.

As winners of the 2019 Redlands Business and Retail awards, it’s safe to say you will enjoy whatever you decide to pick off the menu. But if you can’t decide what to try for lunch, the cafe suggests two of their most popular dishes.

The Bush Pantry Capalaba

The first is their Lemon Myrtle Chicken Caesar Salad, with slow-roasted lemon myrtle chicken breast, crispy bacon, shaved parmesan, sliced egg and rye croutons on a bed of cos lettuce with their classic Caesar dressing.

The second are their signature 'Nan’s Burgers', of which there are 3 to choose from. Pictured at the top is Nan’s beef burger – an Angus beef patty, beetroot, bacon, tomatoes, lettuce, melted Swiss cheese and chutney on a mixed grain bun.

Other lunch items include quiche lorraine, falafel wrap, slow-cooked pulled beef salad, saltwater Barramundi and a baked vegetarian frittata. You can pair these with your choice of white, red or sparkling wine or beer.

Breakfast lovers will appreciate the all-day breakfast menu with a variety items such as: a brekky wrap, big house breakfast, egg benny, smashed avo, mushroom and lentil bagel, tropical fruit bowl or savoury croissant.

Along with great coffee, the Bush Pantry also offers a variety specialty teas (peppermint, chai, chamomile and more) and specialty creations (like hazelnut hot chocolate, peppermint crisp chocolate, toffee coffee latte and more) and cold drinks like frappes, milkshakes, smoothies, juices and more.

Nice to to know – the cafe also caters to events including celebrations, weddings, meetings, workshops, corporate, community and social events with function rooms available.

In a nutshell - this supportive and inclusive cafe provides friendly service, delicious food, coffee and drinks all in a stunning bushland setting.
