Big Bad Wolff Espresso Bar Hendra

Housed in Wolff Coffee’s art-adorned warehouse roastery, Big Bad Wolff Espresso Bar in Hendra is all about specialty coffee and delicious eats.

The indoor space is industrial and whimsical, with a centrepiece giant mural behind the counter depicting Little Red Riding Hood walking through the woods by coveted artist Graham Francoise.

There are plenty of seating options with cozy nooks and a dog-friendly courtyard with water bowls to keep your four-legged friends hydrated.

The café serves up top-notch filter and espresso style coffees made from a range of high quality blended and single origin beans roasted onsite. Their house blend is called Big Dog, which is malty with a dark chocolate and honeyed sweetness and vanilla butteriness. The Brazil Daterra is also a must try. It is super smooth with tasting notes of dried raisins, wine and chocolate. As for the coffee art, it is next level.

Not sure what to go for? Leave it up to the Wolff pack and ask for a recommendation. You can also opt for an espresso or piccolo flight where you can try two different coffee blends.

After dishing up delicious hot-pressed paninis for a while, Big Bad Wolff has expanded its menu to include a range of tasty brunch-style options. The grilled halloumi and avocado bagel with macadamia dukkah and pumpkin fritter stack with onion marmalade, bacon, eggs and fresh spinach are the most popular. Other dishes include a streaky bacon brunch tart, Mexican spiced beans and French fruit toast.

If you’re after something sweet, there’s a selection of cakes, cookies and slices. You can also purchase roasted beans and an array of home barista equipment so you can relive the experience at home.

If you want to take your passion for coffee past drinking it, you can attend the Wolff College of Coffee. Held onsite, courses range from beginner barista and roasting training through to mastering latte art and advanced roasting courses. They also offer roastery tours.

Nice to know – Big Bad Wolff Espresso Bar recently started selling high-quality instant coffee which can be brewed hot or cold at home. It is so popular that it sells out.
