Kettle And Tin

Paddington

KETTLE AND TIN CLOSED PERMANENTLY IN JANUARY 2022.

As restaurants and bars in Brisbane go, Kettle and Tin is the quintessential Queenslander, where behind the picket fence of an historic Paddington worker’s cottage there exists an endless summer.

The original homestead turned furniture factory and one time Indo restaurant has morphed into its best incarnation yet in this gastro bar eatery. With tropical tiki-inspired cocktails, cold craft beers and ciders, a casual foodie’s menu that is an eclectic mix of Asian and Pacific cuisine made with fresh local produce, VJed walls and rear views over the hills of tin and timber Queenslanders, it doesn’t get much better than Kettle and Tin. Indeed here’s the kind of venue that punters arrive at for breakfast and leave after last drinks.

Kettle and Tin Paddington prawns

Breakfast is available daily until 3 and includes dishes like sweet potato and dark chocolate waffles, Vietnamese crepes and asparagus and mushroom frittata: enjoy with a well-brewed coffee or refresher Hare of the Dog cocktail like the Hendricks Iced tea: then lunch kicks in at 11.30 till 3 with offerings such as cider pork pulled sandwiches, tea smoked duck salad or barra burger.

From 3 onwards Kettle and Tin’s famous designed-to-share menu takes over, with the option of small, medium or large plates available through until late.

Kettle and Tin Paddington BBQ chicken wings

Must-try are the confit duck nachos, Half shell scallops,  Chinese BBQ wings, or Moreton Bay Banana prawns, the perfect companions to a jug of Kettle and Tin Sangria or a wicked house cocktail like the fired up rum, rum, spiced pineapple and fresh lime Rick Grimes, Bitch! On the smaller side choose from pork belly fries, onion Bhaji or Louisiana style deep fried pickles and for something substantial tuck into lamb rump with Israeli cous cous salad or seared loin of kangaroo.

Dessert comes in solid form (think caramel and peanut butter blondie) or liquid, with dessert cocktails such as Spiced Caribbean Espresso martini.

And all of this can be enjoyed from the cool air con interior or the street front terrace with some of the best people watching in the inner west.

Need to know - Pooches are welcome to join their owners in the courtyard out front.

The menu may have changed since our visit.
