BrewDog
Murarrie
BrewDog is an epic craft beer brewery, taproom and restaurant located on the banks of the Brisbane River in Murarrie.
Set beneath the Gateway Bridge. this purpose-built $30 million brewhouse is the first in Australia for independent Scottish craft beer company BrewDog. The massive riverside warehouse features a brewery as well as an industrial chic taproom and restaurant dubbed DogTap.
Here, beer lovers can converge to sample the vast array of craft beers on tap and enjoy top-notch pub fare in a relaxed child and dog-friendly space, filled with big blue booths and tall tables with stools. Otherwise, patrons can sit at picnic tables outside in a fairy-lit beer garden dominated by vibrant street art.
Most of the 28 brews on tap are crafted by BrewDog including their headliners: Lost Lager, Dead Pony Club, Indie Pale Ale and their most popular, Punk IPA; while 8 are guest brews crafted locally by Balter, Brouhaha, and Aether Brewing to name a few. If you can't decide, ask for a complimentary taster or two. Besides beer, there's a predominantly Australian wine list and boutique spirits.
The extensive food menu, created to complement the beer on offer, includes small plates of spiced barramundi fritters served with chunky guacamole, deep-fried crispy pork cheeks, and salt 'n' chilli calamari with burnt lemon and chive dip.
There's pizzas like Hawaii Five-O (fresh pineapple and pork), Big Tony (spicy sopresso, chilli, smashed napoli tomatoes and mozzarella) and White Trash (ricotta, stilton, mozzarella, spinach and walnuts); while burgers range from juicy beef patties, and buttermilk fried chicken, to a handful of delicious vegetarian and vegan burgers.
Alternatively, there's wholesome fare - superfood salads (quinoa, sweet potato, mixed grains, pumpkin seeds and feta) and broccoli and avocado bowls with harissa chickpeas, pine nuts and maple mustard dressing - and popular pub grub like beer-battered fish and chips, chicken parmy, and buffalo hot wings.
