Paper Moon Coffee House
Annerley
One of Brisbane's coolest cafes is Paper Moon Coffee House, offering expertly-brewed coffee and vegan fare in an old colonial store with art deco decor, Wurlitzer jukebox and free pool table.
Customers can sit back and relax in the inviting space that features exposed brick, art deco posters, lamps and a red velvet lounge, while sipping excellent coffee, listening to jazz, and playing board games or billiards.
Quiet conversations can be had in one of two back rooms, both equipped with comfy couches; or head out into the rear garden and soak up some sunshine.
The cafe is 100% vegan offering alternative milk options: soy, oat, coconut, almond and macadamia. Coffee on pour is locally roasted by Bear Bones, served along with tea, iced tea, hot chocolate, chai, smoothies and Hrvst St cold pressed juices.
Meanwhile, an on-site food van, Wild Spice Kitchen, dishes up delicious vegan fare for breakfast and lunch from Wednesday to Sunday. The all-day menu includes The Amelie (herbed and cheezy tofu scramble with warm croissant, roast tomatoes and hash browns), vegan French toast served with grilled banana, coconut butterscotch and vanilla ice-cream, Fungi Party (mushroom burger) and Wild Spice Kitchen's signature vegan Mac 'n' Cheese.
Nice to know - Paper Moon shares the historic space with vintage shop Moonage Daydream.
Need to know - Paper Moon also doubles as a BYO function space and is the perfect venue to host your next celebration.
