As an eatery Camp Hill's Ashton and Old wears several hats – a great value local bistro dishing up foodie's fare that is either premise made or sourced locally, it is child-friendly, with plenty of space for prams and is also a takeaway pantry, stocking its own brand of preserves, relishes and sauces as well as a small hand-picked selection of other goodies.
On the breakfast menu are toasted brioche with stewed autumn fruits and ricotta and pan fried black pudding with cheddar, avocado and salsa or corn fritters with smoked trout and caviar, with coffee well-made Veneziano.
Lunch options include confit duck fettuccine, Ashton & Old's seafood basket, moussaka and Moroccan spiced chicken kebabs and with a bar licence pending there'll be wine or boutique beer by the glass to accompany.
