The Charming Squire
South Brisbane
The Charming Squire in South Bank has opened its floor-to-ceiling glass doors revealing a microbrewery and casual and up-market dining beneath barrels of the popular craft beer.
The charismatic brewbar by Mantle Group and James Squire joins the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The sophisticated dining room exudes a blend of elegance and class with an industrial flair. Brown booths and wooden tables with silver cutlery are positioned beneath exposed ceilings with a charming view into the architecturally designed kitchen.
There is more to The Charming Squire than the extensive list of James Squire craft beers, local and standard beers and specialty beer cocktails as the drinks are well matched to the outstanding meals.
While the customary burgers, premium wood fired steaks and generous salads are available, the creativity shines through in the delicate, game and gourmet options. With dishes such as Smoked and Corned Lamb’sTongue, Smoked and Crispy Duck and fresh meats from local paddocks straight to plates, The Charming Squire sets itself apart from the current rise of microbreweries.
On the dessert front the chef nails it too - The Dark Chocolate Soufflé is an inspired cocoa crumble and strawberry garden and the Assiette of Mandarin and Orange comes highly recommended.
Meanwhile, the bar and casual dining spots offer a relaxed vibe with a state of the art television featuring sport and a bar that has James Squire beers flowing straight from the taps.
In a nutshell: The Charming Squire offers something for everybody with a live music, a flowing bar, casual yet quality dining and an elegant space where visitors can appreciate fine foods prepared and presented with love.
Need to know: Take care on the 3 legged chairs.
