Fig Tree Pocket River Reserve

Fig Tree Pocket

Fig Tree Pocket River Reserve is one of Brisbane’s hidden treasures – a secreted waterfront park with picnic tables, BBQ, boat ramp and cute nautical themed playground, overseen by majestic gum trees.

Kids will love the red white and blue play equipment, which includes a ‘ship’ fort, tugboat, swings, hirdy girdy and sea-themed rocker, rope plank bridge, and for parent’s peace of mind there are clean modern amenities adjacent.

One barbecue and two picnic tables make up the rest of the facilities and in each direction from the park there is a grassy river bank perfect for strolling. To the left a level grass riverside tract is great for waterfront mansion spotting, while on the other side it leads around to views on Riverside Rocks Park.

Need to know: A small car park is on hand just inside the park. Take the road to the end of Mandalay St and a smaller paved drive into the park area.

There’s also a car park for boat trailers on a lower level by the boat ramp.
