The Talking Toucan
New Farm
THE TALKING TOUCAN HAS CLOSED.
The Talking Toucan is a super cute cafe in New Farm serving specialty coffee and all-day breakfast fare including gourmet crepes prepared by a French chef.
Found off the beaten track at the quiet end of James Street, this cottage café boasts a dog-friendly backyard with additional seating inside the cosy cafe, featuring exposed brick walls adorned by local artwork.
The all-day menu features sweet and savoury French crepes like salted caramel or peanut butter and strawberry jam topped with vanilla ice-cream and fresh fruit; while savoury ones include herby cheese with parmesan, garlic butter and fresh herbs, Aussie cheese and vegemite, and smoked ham, egg and cheese crepes served with grilled cherry tomatoes and fresh greens.
Alternatively, there’s classic ham and cheese toasties, smashed curried eggs on sourdough with smoked ham, and avocado on sourdough with sesame, wasabi, edamame pods and pickled ginger. In addition, there’s a selection of homemade treats on offer including gluten-free and vegan options.
Coffee on pour includes a signature blend by Sunshine Coast-based Freehand Coffee Roasters, single origin coffee, cold brew and French press single origin served in a plunger with milk on the side.
Besides coffee, there’s T2 teas, hot chocolate, chai, fresh juice, frappes, fancy milkshakes, smoothies and house made iced tea.
