Goldfinch
Brisbane CBD
Goldfinch is a glamorous, glasshouse, sidewalk restaurant and bar with hanging roof garden, annexed to the Pullman Hotel in Brisbane CBD.
Open 7 days for drinks and meals, Goldfinch is a top spot for people-watching and enjoys stunning night views of the lit-up colonades of Brisbane City Hall across the street.
Goldfinch's Hamptons summer house decor (gleaming white patio furniture, hanging globes, glass roof and greenery) is the perfect setting to enjoy the bespoke food served here, for this is no ordinary hotel restaurant.
A top Brisbane CBD dinner spot, the menu at Goldfinch features small dishes such as pacific oysters with almond gazpacho, trout roe and shiso, charred baby cos, prosciutto, pecorino, lemon, anchovy and hazelnut or charred Mooloolaba prawn, Nduja, warrigal greens and lime.
Large plates include the likes of North QLD Barramundi, tomato, serrano ham, pickled beans, goats curd, Pumpkin, manchego arancini, custard, pickled, pine nut and gastrique or Black Angus Sirloin 300 gm, potato fondant, onion puree, scallion and jus.
For sides, there's delicious options such as cheesy fries, parmesan, truffle oil, herb salt and aioli, zaatar-roasted cauliflower, warm hummus and puffed grains or charred sweet corn, chermoula, coriander, chilli.
Save room for dessert, with delectable choices such as Early grey pannacotta, mandarin, chocolate sorbet, raspberry and puffed rice or warm chocolate fondant, hazelnut gelato, cacao crumb, caramel and raspberry.
And for those after something lighter or more casual, choose from wood-fired pizzas including Gorgonzola, Kris Lloyd chevre or Sopressa salami. These pizzas are also on the lunch menu along with gourmet burgers, sandwiches and mains such as steak and pommes frites or papardelle pasta.
Need to know - Goldfinch also makes a great breakfast spot if in the CBD, with both a buffet or a la carte breakfast available along with excellent barista-made coffee.
Good to know - The name Goldfinch is inspired by the Goldfish bar which in the 1970s and 80s occupied the site as part of the old Crest Hotel, a notorious meeting pace for celebrities and corrupt police and politicians during the height of the Fitzgerald era. There was even rumoured to be an underground tunnel connecting Goldfish to the council chambers across the road at Brisbane City hall.
