Simply Beans

Underwood

Some of Brisbane’s best coffee beans can be found in a secret southside roastery, Simply Beans, hidden in an industrial complex on Compton Road in Underwood.

Founded five years ago by Master Coffee Roaster Giuseppe Anapo, Simply Beans recently moved its roastery and espresso bar into bigger and better premises.

Here, customers can buy beans by the bag full or sit and enjoy a cup of award-winning coffee; with several blends and single origins to choose from including beans from Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Guatemala, Mexico and more.

Tables and chairs fill the front of the roastery while sacks of beans and a roasting room occupy the rear. Behind a wooden door, a cosy cafe awaits where customers can order their morning macchioto or afternoon affogato and sample a classic Italian pastry or biscuit by Brisbane’s Dolci Sapori - cannoli, pistacchio and occhio di bue to name a few.

More substantial offerings include pannini, foccacia and wraps while cold drinks include iced lattes and frappes made with real fruit coulis in mango, banana and strawberry.

*Things to Note: Simply Beans carries everything the home barista needs from coffee cups to espresso machines. Barista training is also provided.
