Currumbin Rock Pools

Currumbin Valley

The Currumbin Rock Pools are a secret swimming hole, a mere fifteen minute drive from Currumbin Beach, and is popular with locals and those who take the time to seek out this little treasure.

The drive alone is worth the trip as Currumbin Creek Road follows the creek inland through the lovely, lush Currumbin Valley.

Setting the scene for reminiscences of idyllic childhood days, kids swing on ropes and leap off ledges into the refreshing rivulet while those too timid to brave the icy, cold creek lounge like lizards on the rocks nearby. Pool depths vary but there are plenty of places for pre-schoolers to splash around and you can even take man's best friend along for a swim.

Pack a picnic to enjoy on the grassy banks or grill some snags on the barbie. Not totally untamed, picnic tables and toilets are close at hand. You'll also find hot coffee, cold drinks, snacks and ice-creams across the road at the Currumbin Community Farm Campus.

Nice to know: Continue another five minutes along Currumbin Creek Road and you'll reach the Mount Cougal section of Springbrook National Park where an 800 metre walking trail leads to cascading waterfalls, rock pools and an historic bush sawmill. Make sure you check out Cougal Cascades for a refreshing swim.
