Hobby Lane Cafe
Mitchelton
Hobby Lane Cafe, tucked away on Blackwood Street in Mitchelton's eat and drink precinct, provides gourmet, seasonal far for breakfast and lunch.
The interior tables at Hobby Lane Cafe are minimalist and practical, alongside casual stools which overflow into handy side walk seating. There are decadent cakes, biscuits, slices and donuts for sale in the display cabinet as well as loaves of freshly baked bread and house-made condiments.
For all-day breakfast Hobby Lane Cafe serves gourmet dishes like cinnamon french toast (with spiced blood plums, vanilla marscapone & toasted almonds); crispy fried corn fritters (crème fraiche, brinjal pickle roast cherry tomatoes, avocado zucchini, greens + chilli, lime), or Hobby Eggs Benny (green apple jalapeno jam hobby hollandaise, toasted sourdough).
Lunch-style dishes, also available all day include Brisket Reuben (18hr brisket, sauerkraut, Russian dressing smoked scamorza cheese & house pickles); KFC Korean fried chicken burger); and Quinoa Salad (sumac sweet potato, pomegranate, mint cucumber, carrot, lentil sprouts, greens avocado, toasted almonds, haloumi turmeric currant orange dressing).
There is also a tasty kids menu including avo on toast, hotcakes with ice-cream, strawberry & maple syrup) or Kids breaky (poached/fried egg, bacon, toast, hash brown & tomato sauce).
In a nutshell - Perfectly located cafe serving tasty gourmet meals, with easy take away coffee options (highly recommended during Blackwood Street Markets - 1st Sunday each month).
Good to know - There is a small car park located behind Hobby Lane Cafe, and Mitchelton Train Station is a two minute walk away.
