DRUM DINING IN NEWSTEAD HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED.
Drum Dining, located in the heart of Newstead, has the perfect balance of sophistication and relaxed vibes – creating a suave meeting house for the suburbs locals.

The restaurant was designed for long lunches in the sunshine and for enjoying sundowners in the evening – with huge windows covering an entire wall of the venue. Luxurious, modern chandeliers dress the ceiling, along with vibrant feature walls, pendant lighting and an array of seating options. There is also an outdoor area, decorated with a lush plant wall, modern furniture and pendant lighting.

The menu is abundant with no-fuss dishes that are suitable for grazing and sharing amongst a few diners. The rare beef is one to try as the meat is beautifully coal grilled and served with all the right garnishes; skordalia, mustard, fried capers and sorrel.

Croquettes are always a winner when dining with a group and Drum’s version certainly doesn’t disappoint. The croquettes are filled with cauliflower, leeks and gruyere, served with mustard and aioli.

If you’re after a substantial dish (which can also be shared), don’t go past their linguine, which is tossed with bay bug meat, long chilli, gari, fresh parmesan and lime.

The four page drinks menu will take you a while to ponder on, but we recommend trying one (or two) of their delicious Drum cocktails. With four espresso martinis to choose from and every other spirit, it’s a tough choice. Popular choices are the Aperol Spritz and a Moscow Mule.

Need to know – Nearby parking is available.
Nice to know – Owner, Nick Pinn also owns Malt Dining, Malt Pier, Malt Traders, Vaquero and On The Side.
