Electric Avenue
Woolloongabba
Electric Avenue is an exquisite old world pub that perfectly captures the spirit of Woolloongabba’s antique precinct with a thoroughly modern twist.
Step through the doorway of Electric Avenue’s heritage-listed brick building into a charming bygone era of dapper waiters in black tie, shiny wood panelling, Chesterfield lounges, taxidermy, glass cabinets filled with antiques and collectibles, and lit by vintage lamps, teacup candles and chandeliers.
In the foyer is the splendid vintage lounge bar, the perfect place to enjoy a tipple or two from the extensive drinks menu, along with a delicious bar snack such as rustic fries, homemade dip and duck liver pâté . On offer are a choice of Electric Avenue signature and classic cocktails, international and Australian wines, beers on tap and bottled, plus premium spirits (including an impressive array of gin and whiskeys).
Tucked away to the rear of the bar is a secret antique toy store-themed ‘courtyard’ with timber booths and chess set tables, festooned with a fascinating collection of old toys.
Electric Avenue's cosy vintage dining rooms and nooks, with antique chairs, burgundy curtains and black leather banquettes, are the perfect place to tuck into some delicious British-inspired share plates like Yorkshire pudding croquettes and scotch eggs, or crispy jerk chicken along with artisan cheese and charcuterie boards.
Also available are their famous British classics: fish and chips, homemade bangers & mash, and traditional marsala curry. For something more substantial, Mains include risotto, porchetta; 250g Cape Grim sirloin; or roast chicken. All mains are perfectly paired with sides and sauces to match.
On Sundays, Electric Avenue serves up a delicious traditional roast with all the trimmings including Yorkshire puddings and extra gravy.
Good to know – Everyday Food and Drink Happy Hour from 5pm-6pm. Weekly dinner specials: Wednesday - $15 Shares & Cocktails; Thursday - $20 Classics; Friday - $25 Steak Night; Sunday - $25 Family Roast with all the trimmings.
Need to know – Upstairs is Electric Avenue’s secret speakeasy jazz bar, Mrs J. Rabbits, perfect for a pre or post dinner drink. Look for the antique armoire entrance.
