SUMMER HOUSE AT KANGAROO POINT HAS CLOSED.

Summer House restaurant, bar and café is like a tropical oasis located below the Story Bridge in the otherwise hustle and bustle of Kangaroo Point.

The exotic inspired restaurant abundant with towering palms and large paper lanterns is renowned for creating premium tapas dishes. The combination of delicious food, boutique beverages and not to mention the tropical décor creates a beautiful slice of paradise in the otherwise frantic, Kangaroo Point.

There a variety of seating options, with large booths as well as intimate tables indoors and outdoors. Couch seating is also available for more of a relaxed setting. The venue is bursting with tropical colors and props such as flamingos and paper lanterns. Hanging planters and tall palms create a tropical and intimate feel for a meal with your loved one or with a group of friends and family.

The menu is large, serving dinner throughout the week and breakfast, lunch and dinner over the weekends. Sustainable, free range and organic products are used where possible, with everything created in the Summer House kitchen.

For breakfast, menu options are endless with dishes such as, an Acai Bowl, Pulled Pork Benedict or even Strawberry and Ricotta Pancakes. 

The lunch and dinner menu is overflowing with fantastic tapas concoctions, with everything from Hoisin Duck Pancakes to fresh Thai Fish Cakes to Crispy Five Spice Chicken which is served with cucumber, coriander, fried shallots and jalapeno slaw. There is something for everyone, with an array of choices for vegetarians and gluten-free folk.

Mains can also be purchased with a steak of the day, fish of the day and a classic House Burger. Desserts are enough to swoon over with the likes of Gingerbread Brulee or even a Dessert Board to share.

The bar is full to the brim of spirits from across the globe, allowing Summer House to create some delicious cocktail concoctions. Wines are also in abundance, sourced from various boutique wine makers, cider and beer are also available on tap and bottled. Smoothies, juices, coffees, teas and even fresh coconuts are also on the menu.

Need to know – Limited street parking is available.

Nice to know – There is live music playing every evening from Wednesday through to Sunday. Daily specials are available such as BYO Wednesdays, Sunday drinks specials, burger and beer Thursdays and house-made pizza Tuesdays. Garden lunches can be booked which includes bottomless mimosas and tapas for two hours.
