Carport Cafe is Cannon Hill’s best kept secret, a gem of a café set in a gorgeous garden oasis, open daily for breakfast and lunch.
Perched on Pickwick Street, a short stroll from Cannon Hill Plaza, Carport has plenty of eclectic seating available. Customers can sit in the shade of the carport, in the beautifully landscaped courtyard or inside the café.
Dog-friendly and child-friendly, kids can sit in the shaded space behind the café with little tables and chairs provided.
Breakfast includes standard fare such as Bircher muesli, omelettes and eggs benedict; while stand outs are the Breaky Stack (haloumi, grilled tomato, honey roasted pumpkin and spinach on sourdough), smoked salmon and spicy potato patties served with poached eggs and haloumi, and the highly recommended Green Breakfast – poached eggs, avocado, spinach and pesto on artisan sourdough.
Lunch options range from fresh sandwiches and delicious salads (such as honey roasted pumpkin, feta, walnuts and figs) to burgers like chicken, steak or haloumi (with sun-dried tomatoes, avocado, lettuce and hummus).
A kiddie’s menu consists of house made beans on toast, eggs on toast and cheese toasties.
The coffee is top-notch - organic single origin and Super Brazil blend by Genovese.
Tea is by Tea Drop and cold pressed juices are handmade, like Lychee Kisses (watermelon, apple, lychee and mint) and Sugarcane Surprise (sugarcane, ginger and lemon). Smoothies and milkshakes round out the drinks menu.
