Black Ink Espresso
Eight Mile Plains
Black Ink Espresso, tucked away in Brisbane Technology Park in Eight Mile Plains, is the flagship café for local, boutique roasters Black Ink Coffee.
Sleek and modern with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, this specialty coffee café showcases Black Ink’s top-notch brews, including their signature blend Wingdings (Ethiopia, Sumatra, PNG), single origins and filter.
Open week days for breakfast and lunch, light breakfast fare includes acai bowls, toasted muesli, fruit loaf served with honey ricotta and berries, and smashed avocado, dukkah and feta on quinoa and soya sourdough.
More substantial offerings include the Black Ink brekky burger (bacon, fried egg, caramelised onions, haloumi, avo and tomato relish on Japanese milk bun), big breakfast (poached eggs, bacon, chorizo, avo salsa, haloumi, sautéed mushrooms and toasted pita bread) and the must try sweet potato and corn fritters served with poached eggs, thick cut bacon and avocado salsa.
Lunch options range from burgers like Black Ink burger (handmade beef pattie, bacon, cheese, tomato relish and smoky barbecue sauce on Japanese milk bun) and Cubanos pork burger (mojo marinated pork, dill pickles, cheese, mustard and apple slaw on grilled ciabatta) to gourmet sandwiches such as Philly cheese steak roll (marinated rib eye, green capsicum, caramelised onions and cheese on milk bun) – all served with thick cut chips; while vegetarians can tuck into vege stacks of grilled eggplant, sweet potato, butternut pumpkin, zucchini, capsicum and feta.
A display case stocks fresh sandwiches, salads and sweet treats to take back to the office or enjoy on-site. Besides coffee, the café offers fresh juices and loose leaf teas.
