What started as a candlelight march in support of refugees and asylum seekers in 2007, this much-loved annual event has grown to become Queensland’s largest welcoming event, with the magical LUMINOUS Lantern Parade lighting up South Bank Parklands.
This iconic event is a joyful celebration of Queensland's rich cultural diversity and a heartfelt welcome to the newest Queenslanders, with this year's parade set to be an unforgettable spectacle of Queensland’s vibrant diversity.
The evening will be highlighted by the LUMINOUS Lantern Parade procession at dusk, followed by a high-energy music performance to close out the festivities.
LUMINOUS Lantern Parade is a free event for all ages, so come along with your family and friends and be part of this enduring tradition celebrating Queensland’s rich diversity!
