Witton Barracks Park in Indooroopilly is a military-themed playground and picnic ground featuring morse code puzzles, a toy jeep, climbing walls, slides and swings.

Witton Barracks was  built at Indooroopilly in 1880 and played a vital role in World War II, serving as a base for joint Australian and American intelligence units and today, a children's park commemorates the historically significant site.

The playground has sunshades as well as a rocking toy jeep which is perfect for little ones keen to pretend driving trucks or cars. A swinging bridge connects two play towers which also includes slides, tunnels and climbing walls.

Meanwhile, older children will enjoy trying to solve the morse code puzzle - a series of dots and dashes which are cleverly embedded in the playground floor.

Nice to know - There is also a large grassed area with undercover picnic tables.

Need to know - Street parking is available along Lambert Rd, directly opposite Indooroopilly Railway Station.
