Hercules Street Park

Hamilton

Hercules Street Park is an impressive state of the art playground at Hamilton's Northshore with aquativity, a multi-court play area, open green, BBQ faciltities and an offleash dog park.

The main play area is under shade cloths and whilst compact, its clever design has so many features that children will be entertained for hours. Centrepiece is a sculptured hill with slippery dips, connecting tunnels, scrambling nets and a climbing wall.

Alongside it is a giant fort-like cage with tower and connecting bridge and a twisty tube slide at one end. Inside are obstacle rope course, nets and other challenges, while underneath are hammock swings and a tyre-style swing. Meanwhile alongside are swings for younger kids and a spinning wheel.

The aquativity feature is super popular with kids of all ages and perfect for hot summer days. It consists of a line-up of 'showers' with rubber floor that kids run through and activate, getting drenched on the way, so be sure to bring swimmers or a change of clothes.

On two sides of the playground are benches that parents/carers to sit whilst kids play though only one side is under cover. In addition there are BBQ facilities, toilets and a circle of lawn (the green) that kids can run and play or picnic on, as well as a multi-court play and exercise area.

Nice to know - Near the playground is an offleash dog park (note there is no shade inside).

Need know - A small car park adjacent has 4 parents with pram and 2 disabled spaces. Otherwise there is limited street parking nearby or if that's full, use the parking at Portside Wharf, which is across the road.
