Walton Bridge Reserve Playground

The Gap

Set amongst the beautiful leafy suburb of The Gap is the excellent Walton Bridge Reserve playground where there is sure to be something to please every member of the family young or old.

Walton Bridge Reserve has long been a favourite amongst locals for its natural bush surroundings, dating back to when the reserve was first developed as a resting point.

The reserve is now the perfect place where families can spend hours of fun enjoying the playground facilities or a leisurely picnic under the shady trees. It has designated BBQ areas complete with sheltered tables surrounding the park perfect for those long summer days.

The thoughtfully designed playground caters for children big or small with separate areas of play for smaller children through to the sky-high fort perfect for the older adventurers. Big kids at heart will enjoy taking a spin in the giant climbing sphere or exploring the fort with climbing nets and a wobbly bridge that ends in enormous tunnel slide.

Little explorers will love the dedicated play space for young children featuring a sand play area and funnel so don’t forget to bring sand toys. Further along are toddler friendly swings, a smaller slide and swinging hammock.

The playground is well shaded by tall leafy Gum trees and shade sails, providing that ex-tra coverage so families can stay and play all day throughout the year.

Bordering Walton Bridge playground is Fish Creek where those feeling adventurous can explore the natural elements that the creek has to offer while discovering some local tad-poles and wildlife.

The Enoggera Creek bikeway passes through the back of the reserve providing large open concrete paths that are perfect for the bike or scooter rider and the walkways around the park provide a relaxing space to take a stroll.

Need to know -The park is accessible by a ramp or stairs with plenty of on-site car parking available adjacent to The Gap Police Station. Toilet facilities and picnic shelters are scat-tered throughout the park.
