Environmental Park

North Lakes Environmental Park is like a mini-Kakadu in Brisbane - a  protected wetland eco-system home to 29 species of native birds including black swans, herons, fairy wrens, wedge-tailed eagles, and migrating fan-tailed cuckoos.

North Lakes Environmental Park Woodside

Saltwater Creek meanders through the middle of North Lakes Environmental Park and flows directly into Hays Inlet. Billabongs along the waterway are lined with paperbarks, casuarinas, native grasses and an abundance of stunning water lilies.

North Lakes Environmental Park Woodside

There are several picnic areas and children's playgrounds dotted around North Lakes Environmental Park, with electric barbecues and undercover seating at Lacebark Lake, Whitebeech Lake and Whitecedar Lake.

A well maintained network of bike and walking tracks also winds its way around the parkland.

North Lakes Environmental Park Woodside

Nice to know - The diverse habitat is a dedicated koala corridor and the area is also shared with eastern grey kangaroos, possums and resident water dragons.
