Redland Bay South

Walk

This scenic Redland Bay walk starts at the Pelican Slipway café and follows the shoreline south for about half an hour each way, with stunning views across to the bay islands.

The easy grade walk is child and dog friendly, with paths that are good for young bike riders, while doggie bags are dotted along the way and there’s an offleash park at the end.

The café makes a good place to start, for a coffee or breakfast, with nearby parking and a deck with beautiful marina and sea views.

From here, follow the Esplanade for a few hundred metres, past the swimming enclosure at Ruster’s Reserve and its resident pelicans (there’s a shady bench here that makes a good spot to sit and enjoy the views).

From just past the reserve, a pedestrian path appears on the left and it leads along the roadside with more spectacular views to be had before plunging down into a well-mowed garden of eden-like green space with the path winding through it, following the shoreline.

Along the way are wildflower casuarinas and giant fig trees, banana trees, birds and butterflies to be seen until eventually the path leads through a tiny rainforest grove and past an offleash dog park to a small picturesque bay at Torquay St.

From here turn around and return the same way.
