Hikari

Teneriffe

Hikari is a charming Japanese izakaya - a casual eatery and bar serving authentic Japanese fare along with beer, whisky and sake from a street corner in Teneriffe.

Perched on leafy Florence Street, Hikari is little slice of Japan adorned with Japanese artwork and white paper lanterns.

Hikari Japanese Teneriffe

Open for lunch Wednesday to Sunday, delicious dishes to try includes donburi (bowls filled with rice, seaweed salad, sushi, veggie tempura and your choice of chicken teriyaki, pork belly, fresh water eel or salmon sashimi) and okonomi yakisoba – Hiroshima-style savoury pancakes filled with soba noodles and your choice of meat or seafood.

The dinner menu consists of small plates designed to be shared; from agedashi tofu and takoyaki, salmon sashimi and tuna tataki, chicken katsu and kurobuta pork belly, Wagyu steak and Hokkaido scallops, makimono and sushi.

The fully-licensed bar boasts Orion beer on tap (imported from Okinawa), Japanese bottled beer, umeshu (plum wine), Japanese whisky and scotch, an extensive selection of sake plus a few Australian wines.
