BETAWI INDOOROOPILLY HAS CLOSED.

Experience authentic Indonesian cuisine at Betawi in Indooroopilly, and let your taste buds be transported to the less explored corners of South East Asia.

Named Betawi after the old capital city of Indonesia, Batavia (now known as Jakarta), traditional Indonesian dishes are prepared fresh by local Indonesian chefs, using only the finest ingredients including imported herbs, spices and sauces.

The most popular items on the menu include Nasi Goreng (traditional-style fried rice), Sate Ayam (marinated chicken skewers with housemade peanut sauce), Soto Betawi (tangy coconut milk broth with diced chicken or beef and veggies), and Pecel Ikan (crispy marinated whole tilapia fish served with fried tofu, fresh veggies, sayur asam, sambal, and steamed rice). Alternatively, you can order Pecel Ayam with traditional marinated chicken.

In addition, there are small bites like crispy spring rolls, Bakwan (vegetable fritters), Mpek Mpek (fish cakes), and Tempe Mendonan (batter fried bean curd served with chilli sambal); as well as salads such as Gado Gado (steamed vegetables with homemade peanut sauce and hard boiled egg) or Karedok (fresh veggies tossed in peanut sauce).

Nice to know - Founded in 2007 in Dubai, Betawi is a multi-award winning Indonesian Restaurant renowned for its exotic Asian flavours. Betawi's founder, Isti, an Indonesian national living in Dubai for many years had become so nostalgic of her favourite dishes from home that she took the leap to open her own restaurant. After recently moving to Brisbane, Isti brings her passion for traditional recipes to Indooroopilly.
