Brisbane Delis with in-house Cafes
From traditional European (including Russian and Eastern European delis) to contemporary gourmet, here are seven Brisbane delis with cafes where you can dine in:
Primarily a deli that has been feeding the locals with the best of continental goods for the past thirty five years, the Swiss Gourmet is also a nifty little cafe specializing in good value brunches and light meals involving bagels, Swiss cheese croissants and the made-on-the-premises pastries such as feathery Portuguese tarts and Italian donuts.
Once sated, stock up on Swiss and Belgian chocolates, pates, Swiss and Italian cheeses and cured and smoked meats, of which they have an impressive range.

Nestled in a drive-in shopping strip off Gympie Rd Amici Deli is a bit of an all rounder, being not just a well-stocked Italian deli but an international grocer, gelati bar and in-house cafe as well.
From the deli come fine cuts of coppa, sopressa, pancetta or luscious olives and little takeaway containers of fresh antipasto and from the cheese fridge a decent range of Mediterranean cheese including Sardinian sheep cheese.
On the shelves can be found the gamut of Mediterranean staples – oils and vinegars of all varieties and flavours, pastas, Italian sweets and biscuits as well as pickled veges and canned fish from Northern European neighbours.
Tucked away in the Buranda commercial strip at Woolloongabba, Gourmet Planet Deli and Cafe (formerly Ruski Way) is a melting pot of Russian, Ukrainian, Latvian, Croatian, Polish and Lithuanian cuisine.
Sit in at one of the pavement tables and enjoy homemade Eastern European snacks such as borscht, crepes, traditional Russian honey cake or Ukrainian peroshki ( a savoury donut-like pastry filled with potato, cabbage or beef).
Otherwise, browse the extensive range of products - mountain tea, baskets of Russian candies and chocolates such as hazelnut-filled belochka, roasted buckwheat, preserves and spreads such as ajvar, bagels, caviar, rye bread, herrings and champagne vinegar.
Dairy and deli-wise, there’s kefir (kosher cultured milk), Moscow salami, Polish klobasky sausage and sweet spreadable Russian breakfast cheese, while the freezer is packed with pelmeni , Polish pierogi (dumplings) and peroshki.
Pelmeni, fresh deli and dairy items are made in Australia and everything else is imported.
