Superfly Pizza

Woolloongabba

Superfly Pizza is a funky pizzeria tucked away in a hidden laneway in the heart of Woolloongabba.

Formerly known as Superfly Funk Eye, the Japanese izakaya and wine bar has transformed itself into an Italian pizzeria dishing up piping hot pizzas, meatballs and antipasti.

The cosy ambient space features a striking colour scheme with bar stools nestled around the bar, a few tables inside, and additional seating provided outside in the leafy, fairy-lit laneway.

Classic pizzas include Margherita, Salami and Salsiccia with pork and fennel sausage, onion, rocket and provolone cheese, along with white based pizzas like Pumpkin with Milawa blue cheese, fior di latte mozzarella, rocket, thyme and honey, and Shrooms topped with mushrooms, truffle, fior di latte mozzarella and parmesan.

Alternatively, patrons can sample Superfly's mouthwatering meatballs (beef and pork or zucchini and chickpea) and antipasti which ranges from focaccia with olive oil, balsamic and pesto, to sardines served with citrus garlic sauce, olive raisin tapenade and sourdough, and a charcuterie board piled with cheeses, cured meats, house-made pickles and focaccia.

Fully-licensed, the bar offers a carefully-curated, concise wine list, local craft beer, Moretti Italian beer on tap and Italian cocktails like the classic Negroni and popular Aperol Spritz.
