E'cco Bistro
Newstead
E'cco Bistro has opened its Chef’s-hatted restaurant in Newstead’s Haven complex, serving fine food in their multi-faceted venue.
The modern restaurant is ambient and classy, laden with dining tables and booths of all sizes. There is also bar seating which enables diners to look into the open kitchen. There’s also a semi-private dining room, ideal for reservations.
Start your meal off right with a bowl of Danny's homemade bread, served with French butter.
The menu is bursting with local flavours, abundant with food from the ocean and the paddock, with delicious sides to accompany them. A favourite being their smoked kipfler potatoes, topped with blue cheese and truffle.
E’cco’s duck breast is quite a unique and delectable meal, served with a walnut tarator, fig and shaved goats ricotta.
The seasonal beans are quite the delight, tossed with edamame, hazelnut, tarragon, nigella and chilli oil.
E’cco values their daily specials as highly as their menu, ensuring regular diners have the option to try something new each time they visit. One of their bespoke specials was the North Queensland Bass Groper, served with squid ink pasta and char-grilled oyster mushroom ragout.
The dessert menu features many appetising morsels; a favourite being the strawberry and raspberry deconstructed cheesecake.
More of a chocolate fiend? Tuck into E’cco’s chocolate marquise with burnt orange, caramelised white chocolate and pecans.
Need to know – onsite parking is available.
Good to know – E’cco Bistro also has a Chef’s Menu, which is a set menu of dishes for the month.
The menu may have changed since our visit.
