El Torito

West End

El Torito, in the heart of West End, is a lively restaurant festooned with sombreros, shrines, puppets and flags, that dishes up some of the best Mexican food in Brisbane.

Along with the usual, traditional Mexican fare - tortillas, tacos, burritos and nachos - the standout dish would have to be the Mole Poblano - grilled chicken cooked in home-made mole sauce (dried chillies, chocolate and spices).

For a refreshing accompaniment try the traditional Mexican drink horchata - a combo of rice, condensed milk, cinnamon and milk. Or enjoy a delicious cocktail like a Tequila Sunrise or Margarita. There's a good range of Mexican beer on offer too.

Owned and run by an El Salvadorean family since its inception, on any given night the small Aztec coloured space brims with families, seniors, young couples and students, so it’s wise to book.
