Barchetta Italian
Rosalie
Updated: Aug 06, 2025
Barchetta is a cosy and stylish little Italian bar and restaurant tucked away in a quiet corner of Rosalie Village next to Gelateria Cremona.

Taking its name (which means 'little boat') from a vintage ferrari, Barchetta is an elegant and welcoming little haven, the perfect spot for a glass of wine and delectable bite to eat.

Customers can take a seat on the covered terrace (where fur babies are welcome) or the stunning interior, which features a bar at one end, banquette along one wall and a smattering of Scandi-chic lamplit tables and chairs.

There's also bar seating, perfect for enjoying an aperitvo and plate of antipasti before catching a movie next door to the Cinebar.

The seasonal food menu is prepared using the freshest ingredients, starting with delicious antipasti such as Italian burrata with heirloom tomatoes, basil pesto & evoo; carpaccio (finely sliced wagyu eye fillet with rocket, lemon, anchovy cream & parmesan); calamari fritti (baby calamari, rocket, lemon & aioli) and house-made focaccia with pecorino, olives & garlic or rosemary & Sicilan sea salt.

House specialty is pizzas, made in the traditional pizza oven, with rosse (red) options including Margherita, Diavola, Alla Nonna (tomato, roasted eggplant, mozzarella, basil, toasted sourdough breadcrumbs) and Gamberi E Rucola (tomato, mozzarella, prawns, chilli & rocket). Bianche (white) pizzas include Patate (potato, mozzarella, pancetta, rosemary & parmesan); Mortadella E Pesto (mortadella, mozzarella, pesto & rocket); and Funghi Porcini ([orcini mushrooms, mozzarella, fior di latte, sage & truffle oil),

Pasta dishes are equally delectable, including Spaghetti Carbonara; and must-try Squid Ink Linguine Gamberi E Zucchni (squid ink linguine, Mooloolaba prawns, seafood bisque, zucchini, cherry tomatoes, white wine & toasted breadcrumbs) as are the Secondi, such as Pork Cotoletta with pomodoro, herb salad & parmesan; and Pesce Del Giorno (fish of rhe day). Save room for dessert, with house-made tiramisu, lemon & olive oil cake and chocolate mousse on the menu.

From the bar menu there's Italian cocktails such as Bellini, Negroni and Aperol Spritz as well as house signatures and classics (available on request). The curated wine list features mostly Italian wines as well as a premium wine selection, French champagne and Italian dessert wine. Beers include 2 Italian beers on tap and a small variety of local and international bottled beer.

Good to know - there's an excellent bambini (kids) menu with a choice of small pizzas or pastas (including dessert and drink). On Sundays from 4pm Barchetta hosts a laidback Sunday Spritz session with cocktails and music.
Need to know - There is some offstreet parking available behind the restsurant (entrance off Nash St) otherwise free on street parking.
