Spanish Paella
Brisbane
Last updated: Nov 18, 2018
The secret is out - Brisbane’s best paella is now being served in the homes of Brisbane residents, thanks to Spanish Paella.
For considerably less than the cost of going to a restaurant*, dinner party guests can enjoy the authentic taste of a real traditional paella, cooked on the spot by the Spanish Paella crew, with the option of tapas and dessert as well.

All that is needed is access to water and a covered 3x3m space (garage, patio or wide verandah) where the cooktops are set up with giant paella pans and the charming Spanish chefs Katia and Raul, who have been cooking for years and bring their passed-down family traditions with them, do their stuff.

The chefs (a husband and wife team from Galicia) arrive a couple of hours before the guests, who arrive to the rich aroma of the paella cooking and while they wait, are served some traditional tapas (Patatas Bravas, served with a secret family recipe of tomato sauce).

Choices of paella (which is found throughout all regions of Spain and ingredients vary according to what the local produce is) are the classic seafood (with mussels, prawns and calamari), 'meat lovers' with Spanish chorizo and chicken or Vegetarian.
When the paella is ready everyone grabs a plate and line up to be served straight from the pan, so all the hosts have to do is ensure everyone has drinks.

For dessert, the traditions continue, with churros with hot chocolate sauce served in cups.

Need to know – For a casual easy affair, the Spanish Paella crew provide disposable plates and cups, and for an extra $1 pp, cutlery but to make a dinner party out of it, it is recommended that the hosts provide proper crockery, cutlery and so forth. Catering for a minimum of 25 up to a maximum of 100+. If you have less than 25 people, thay can accommodate but costs will be higher.

Nice to know - Spanish Paella can do functions, festivals etc too. Website
*Prices start at $21pp for bookings between 25-39, down to $15pp for a crowd of 80-150. Correct at time of writing in Oct 2015.
Must Do Brisbane held a dinner party at their home courtesy of Spanish Paella and the guests are still raving about it.
