Kai Kai Chicken
St Lucia
Kai Kai Chicken is a Brisbane chicken-lover’s dreams come true - a Korean fried chicken buffet in the heart of St Lucia.
The expansive restaurant is located down the stairs of a small shopping and restaurant complex in St Lucia, just down the road from the University of Queensland. The back windows open up to lush bushland, with many tables and chairs inside the restaurant for diners to sit at.
The a la carte or buffet menu is quite simple, each laden with pizza, dirty fries and, of course.. fried chicken. Diners can choose from an abundance of chicken flavours such as original fried, Yangnyum (Korean fried), Nacho Cheese, Buffalo with blue cheese sauce, Black Dragon (soy and vinegar), Pink Panther (creamy sweet chilli), Soy Wasabi Mayo, Cajun with spiced mayo, Honey Soy, Sweet and Sour and last but certainly not least, Goroumaru (pickled onion, house made okonomi sauce, bonito flakes and salad leaves).
Add a side of pizza (their Peri Chicken is a favourite) along with a pile of dirty fries and you’ve got yourself a delicious, never-ending cheat meal. The restaurant also has a cold buffet of salads and a few desserts, if you’ve still got room after all of that.
Kai Kai Chicken serves a range of drinks, including beers from around the world and their house made iced tea. The restaurant is also BYO, with a $3 per person corkage fee.
Need to know – the buffet costs $24.90 per person. Your entire table must participate in the buffet. On-site parking is available.
