Updated: Nov 08, 2025
Gramps Café is a cool, corner café housed in an old weatherboard-clad cottage in the leafy suburb of Red Hill.
Inside, the pared back space is furnished with bench seating, timber tables and a stunning Moroccan-tiled counter; while a cosy corner has a couple of comfy, grandpa-style armchairs.
The menu is simple fare done well such as Granny's Granola Bowl with buckwheat, coconut and almond served with coconut yoghurt and mago coulis, smashed avocado on toast with house dukkah, pickled red onions, kiss peppers and gooey cheese and ham toasties with double cheese, béchamel, leg ham and pickles.
There's also Turkish Eggs; Apple Crumble Frenchie; Pumpkin Bruschetta; Mince & Beans (slow cooked savoury mince w/ capsicum chilli jam, labna, Asian style slaw, & poached egg on toasted sourdough); and Asian Style Omelette (aromatic shiitake & tofu omelette in an Asian ginger & spring onion broth.
And after 11am there's a handful of lunch-style dishes including open style NY Reuben; open style Lamb Souvlaki (pulled lamb shoulder, beetroot tahini cream, Persian feta, roast pumpkin & tomates, dill, rocket, & pickled red onion, served on spiced souvlaki bread. There's also a Salad of the Day.
Coffee on pour is Single O and goes down a treat with the freshly baked goods on hand like chocolate brownies or banana bread with passionfruit frosting. Besides coffee, there are specialty teas from The Steepery Tea Co, cold pressed juices, smoothies and milkshakes.
Good to know – Customers can sit at tables with their furry friend on the footpath.
