The Retro Diner
Ipswich
The Retro Diner is a classic 50's and 60's American style diner located in Ipswich's historic Top of Town precinct.
With a jukebox playing the hits of the era, booth seating, vintage formica tables, and plenty of old school photos adorning the walls, sitting at The Retro Diner offers a real dose of nostalgia.
The breakfast menu fits the retro theme with creative names including The King (eggs benedict), The Electric Grill (big breakfast with sausages, bacon, eggs ands beans) and The Roy (vegetarian big breakfast with mushrooms, tomat, spinach and avocado).
For lunch, visitors may choose from The Dirty Harry (home made double burger with bacon and cheese), The Hound Dog (hot dog with bacon and cheese), The Pop Robin (popcorn chicken and salad roll), classic toasties or The Mad Dog (savory mince topped with bacon, cheese and onion).
Popular sweet favorites at The Retro Diner are The Whoppa (ice cream, fudge, nuts, wafer biscuits, and chocolate cake served with a cherry on top), choc brownie waffle baskets, home baked apple pie with cream, and bubble gum sundaes for the kids.
The Retro Diner serves Aromas coffee, a range of specialty teas, hot chocolates, and real milkshakes such as traditional malt, chocolate or cherry vanilla.
In a nutshell - Classic 50's and 60's rockabilly style diner complete with traditional milkshakes, sundaes, hot dogs and home made burgers to boot.
Nice to know - Metered street parking is available along Brisbane St.
