Updated: Sep 18, 2024

The Gap's Walkabout Creek Cafe, located at the gateway to D'Aguilar National Park, has a lunch menu that hits the spot - with tasty open grill sandwiches, pizzas to share, coffee, cake and ice cold soft drinks served seven days a week.

Sitting above Walkabout Creek's Wildlife Centre the newly renovated veranda overlooks the wildlife park including a bird’s eye view of the adorable tree-kangaroo. This tree house cafe is the perfect place to take kids with meals for children including chicken nuggets or crumbed fish with chips, salad and a poppa.

Not only does the café serve great meals, snacks and drinks seven days a week, it is also the centrepiece of a renowned Brisbane events venue, hosting weddings, celebrations, corporate functions and kids’ parties that can feature private wildlife encounters.

After lunch, visit the wildlife centre where (for a small fee) you can view tawny frogmouths, frilled neck lizards, wallabies and wombats or embark on a bush walk with two trails leading directly from the cafe.

*Things to note: Set in a beautiful bush setting overlooking Enoggera Reservoir, just 12km from Brisbane's CBD, Walkabout Creek Cafe is an ideal location for conferences and weddings; with Brisbane's premier catering company Cuisine on Cue taking care of the menu.
