Shorties Espresso Bar

Shailer Park

Updated: Nov 18, 2018

Shorties Espresso Bar is an unexpected gem of a café found on a corner of a Shailer Park shopping centre just off the Pacific Motorway.

The slick interior features quirky industrial touches like exposed light bulbs and a table that is made from an old Gaggia coffee machine, while the whole place has a great community feel.

Some of Logan’s best coffee is served here, brewed with Elixir beans and with cold drip available. As well as coffee there’s iTea, fruity frappes, hot chocolate, ginger beer, organic juices and smoothies available.

All of the food here is prepared and baked onsite, from the pea and ham soup to the beef lasagne, roast vegetable tortellini, toasties, wraps and daily salads through to the sweet stuff like lemon meringue pie, banana bread and almond cookies.

On weekends there’s a special hot breakfast menu served between 7 and 11, with lighter options like raisin toast, Bircher muesli and brekkie wraps up to the Benny (free range poached eggs with bacon/spinach) and the Callum – Toast topped with spinach, avo, salmon and poached eggs.

Customers can hang out and enjoy the free newspapers and magazines on the shelves and there’s also a small range of local art and wares for sale.

Need to know – Shorties is child-friendly, with high chairs and booster seats available and the odd toy to play with.
