Hallowed Grounds Espresso

Mt Gravatt

Updated: Aug 03, 2025

Since opening at the beginning of 2012, Hallowed Grounds Espresso at Mt Gravatt has gone from being a nice place to pick up a take-away coffee to a great place to sit, relax, and take-in the eclectic environment.

Patrons can choose homebaked treats like lamingtons, lemon and ginger slice, or Moroccan orange and pistachio cake. Breakfast is served all day and includes the classic cheese, bacon, and egg muffin alongside NY style bagels served with local bush honey, cream cheese, walnuts and sultanas or feta scrambled eggs on Turkish bread. Lunch options vary from a simple ham and cheese toastie to gourmet sandwiches, vegetarian lasagne, and lamb burgers.

The decor is what sets this place apart from other Southside cafes though. It's filled to the brim with quirky collectables and vintage bric-a-brac, many with price tags attached.

*Things to Note: Hallowed Grounds is dog friendly with doggy treats available. Parking is available on-street or behind the cafe, down the lane.
