Blue Bear Coffeehouse
New Farm
Blue Bear Coffeehouse is a charming, folksy cafe found on a leafy New Farm street corner serving delicious foodie fare for breakfast and lunch, and by night, a cool neighbourhood wine bar.
Inside, the cosy space has been revamped and features a cute new mural of a bear fishing for coffee on one wall lined with bench seating and wrought-iron and timber tables, while outside on the corner customers can enjoy a cup of well-brewed coffee with their fur babies.
The all day brunch menu boasts breakfast faves like crushed avocado on sourdough, waffle benedict (Belgian waffle topped with crispy bacon, haloumi, spinach, poached eggs and hollandaise), and flavour-filled roasted soy and garlic mushrooms with spiced sweet potato hummus, poached eggs and toast. For sweet tooths, there's strawberry, rhubarb and Turkish delight waffles served with vanilla ice-cream, fresh berries and fairy floss.
Lunch dishes range from a barbecue beef burger topped with smoked bacon, and pulled pork quesadillas, to The Cuban sandwich - pulled pork, smoked ham, melted cheddar, pickles and American mustard on a crusty sub.
In addition, there's a selection of house baked treats on offer such as carrot cake, banana bread, blueberry muffins and brownies.
Coffee is roasted locally by Bear Bones, served along with Vietnamese coffee, tea, milkshakes and fresh juices.
