Moonshine Coffee
Kangaroo Point
Moonshine Coffee is a bolt-hole cafe nestled underneath the Story Bridge in Kangaroo Point, where locals line up for an expertly brewed cup of Moonshine.
The Kangaroo Point coffee nook, a short stroll from Captain Burke Park, is Moonshine's first venture outside of New South Wales, where the small, family-owned coffee outfit hand-roast beans in the hills of Byron Bay.
Patrons can perch on a stool inside the pocket-sized cafe or enjoy their cuppa out front in the shade of a great fig tree. Brews on offer include the roaster's organic Moon Runner blend, single origin batch brew and filter coffee, served along with specialty lattes, tea and hot chocolate.
Food wise, there are savouries such as mushroom and thyme tarts, ham and cheese toasties and Wardell Pies - legendary across Northern NSW - with classic fillings like chunky steak and unique flavours such as duck and mushroom.
Sweet treats, provided by Jocelyn's Provisions, range from scrumptious cupcakes - think passionfruit and raspberry - to triple chocolate brownies.
At the rear of the cafe, customers can stock up on gourmet goods from select Byron Bay businesses including organic Mayde Tea, Three Blue Ducks granola, Church Farm sauces, raw honey, handmade ceramic mugs, Moonshine roasted beans, instant coffee and signature seven-spice Sri Lankan chai.
