The Kelsey Cafe
Coorparoo
The Kelsey Cafe is a welcome addition to Coorparoo's popular Martha Street dining precinct, perched on the corner of Kelsey Street and Newman Avenue.
Housed in an old Queenslander with a wrap-around veranda, the charming cottage cafe with indoor and outdoor dining, offers all day breakfast as well as lunch (available after 11:30am).
Customers can tuck into breakfast faves like avocado on toast with Persian feta, corn fritters, huevos rancheros (Mexican-style eggs) and the highly-recommended berry croffle - a cross between a buttery croissant and a waffle, topped with mixed berry compote, seasonal fruit and ice-cream.
Otherwise, there's delicious house-smoked salmon served with port reduction, asparagus, shallot mousse, citrus salsa and sous vide egg on sourdough, or pulled pork benedict - slow-cooked pulled pork with apple, cabbage, red onion, sous vide egg and hollandaise sauce on a crispy croffle.
Lunch options include grilled salmon with wasabi potatoes and chilli citrus salsa, sirloin steak with smoked chat potatoes and soy onion marmalade sauce, and wholesome fare such as a grilled chicken salad with tomato, cucumber, red onion, strawberries, mixed greens and tahini mayo.
The Kelsey is kid friendly with a children's menu consisting of bacon and eggs, French toast with ice-cream, grilled chicken with sourdough, or chicken nuggets with potato chips.
Coffee on pour is by Brisbane-based Bellissimo Coffee, served along with loose leaf teas, cold pressed juices, smoothies and sparkling soda water.
