Bosc
West End
The creation of Emily Tankey, BOSC stands for bar of social conscience, meaning that 20% of bar profits go to charity but the goodwill extends environmentally to the fitout, most of it recycled or upcycled from used timber. Tables and a bench are made from old decking, the bar from logs and timber from a Bundaberg farm, the floorboards are original and there's a green wall of artificial plants and a window dedicated to showing local art.
The BOSC bar menu features craft beer and gin cocktails , with house specialties Cutlass and Sabre gin souced from small pirate-loving craft gin outfit West Winds in WA. These are no ordinary gins, with Cutlass, their signature, made with bush tomatoes in the mix.
Must try house cocktails are 'Sweet Disposition', a gin, lime juice, mint and rosemary concoction or the 'Cutlass', a delicious blend of gin, lime, marmalade and basil leaves.
Nice to know - BOSC is dog-friendly and pooches can join their owners inside.
