North Stradbroke Island

Last updated: Sep 13, 2023

Straddie Brewing Co is a stunning Island Craft Brewery located just minutes from the Sealink Ferry Terminal in the beautiful township of Dunwich, North Stradbroke Island; just 25 minutes from Brisbane on a water taxi and you're in paradise!

Straddie Brewing Co

The architecturally designed home of Straddie Brewing Co occupies three floors, featuring ground floor double-height glass windows which reveal stainless steel fermentation tanks and the 10 hectolitre brewhouse, from which all their beer is brewed.

Climbing the stairs to the first floor, visitors can appreciate several art installations, including a 3.6 metre high wall mural by Queensland artist Jarad Danby.

Although the 90 seat taproom is on the first floor, the sense of being a part of a working craft brewery is not lost as guests can view down into the brewhouse from the internal ‘void’. The top floor panoramic roof deck seats another 90-100, with breathtaking views of the Brisbane City skyline, the Glasshouse Mountains, and the beautiful Redlands Coast by day, and an uninterrupted view of Straddie’s iconic sunsets in the evening.

Brewery Tours (behind the tanks) run every Saturday for 45 minutes and include a tasting paddle. For that extra special Straddie experience, the craft brewery operates a world first In-Flight Beer Tasting Experience - Straddie BrewAIRy Tours.

The island brewery also features an exclusive Beer 'n' Bed Apartment on the top floor, with views of Moreton Bay and Russell Island, which can be booked by the night on AirBnB. What better way to experience the craft brewery and island life than with a stay at this exclusive studio apartment.

Straddie Brewing Co

The craft brewery boasts 2 bars with 12 taps in each, pouring the six core range, awarding-winning Straddie beers: Point Lookout Lager, Amity Pale Ale, Myora Springs Gose, Manta Dark Lager, Jumpinpin IPA, and Mid Track Session Ale with taproom only ‘Sandpit Series’ beers constantly rotating. The sand-filtered water that flows from Straddie’s regional aquifer is perfect for brewing and is an important part of the soul of Straddie beer.

Straddie Brewing Co

Straddie Brewing also serves a hand-picked selection of wines, artisanal spirits, and non-alcoholic spirits, including Redlands Coast Distillery, Milton Rum, Lyres and Sirromet ensuring there is something for everyone to settle into island time.

Straddie Brewing Co

A tapas style selection of small and large plates makes up the majority of the sharing-style menu with Neapolitan-style hand-stretched pizzas and Straddie’s iconic seafood completing the culinary experience.
