Kathmandu Newa Chhe'n

Paddington

The colourful flag-trimmed cottage perched on a ridge of Latrobe Terrace in Paddington that Himalayan cafe Kathmandu Newa Chhe'n resides in, is a far cry from the rustic alpine Asian cuisine it serves.

With four dining spaces - outside in the fairy lit courtyard, inside at the tiny table and chaired dining rooms, or the cushion room - diners can nominate their preference when booking.

Signature starter dishes from momos (melt-in-the-mouth steamed dumplings), paneer or chicken pakora, dal soup and kofta balls - veggie balls cooked with coriander and shallots.

Nepalese curries make up the Mains on the menu, with varieties of vegetable, beef, goat, lamb, chicken or fish. A must-try is the creamy Sherpa Chicken  or Mountain Lamb.

To accompany, there's Tibetan bread, papadum, yoghurt uraita and saag (greens).

Kathmandu Newa Chhe'n is BYO and drinks available include Lassi or milk shakes.

All of the best bars and restaurants in Paddington's Latrobe Terrace
