Bang Bang Fresh Noodle
Fortitude Valley
Bang Bang Fresh Noodle in Fortitude Valley dishes up the freshest noodles in town, hand made when you order, cooked to perfection, and served with a range of tasty toppings such as Sichuan chilli oil, spicy lamb or savoury pork mince.
Also known as Biang Biang, the popular noodle restaurant has re-located from Toowoong to the Valley, taking up residence in a corner shop at Central Brunswick, with a few tables provided inside and a couple more outside.
Owner Kieran makes all the noodles from scratch, hand-pulling the dough before cooking the noodles to 'al dente'. There are 10 noodle dishes on offer including the restaurant's signature Bang Bang noodles served with spicy pork mince, and the highly-recommended Sichuan Dan Dan noodles served with pork mince and house made chilli oil (dry or in a soup).
Other standouts on the menu are noodles in a yellow curry sauce, noodles with lamb and cumin, and noodles with scrambled egg, potato, carrots, wood ear mushrooms and tomato.
Bang Bang also has a small selection of side dishes on offer including veggie spring rolls, homemade pickled veggies, pork wonton with spicy chilli, and a Chinese hamburger (rougamo). Rougamo which literally translates as "meat in a bun" is a popular Chinese street food that consists of a bun (freshly baked by Kieran) filled with tasty meat such as shredded pork with spices and fresh herbs - and is definitely worth trying.
