Black Cat Cafe
Wacol
RSPCA’s Black Cat Café in Wacol is an interactive cat café where customers can enjoy a cup of coffee and bite to eat while watching the resident cats play.
Located at RSPCA’s state-of-the-art facility, this unique café features indoor and outdoor dining with funky cat enclosures in both areas, allowing customers to catch the cats at play in a fun, natural environment. All cats are available for adoption.
In keeping with the RSPCA’s ethos, the café only serves humane food such as cage-free eggs and ethically-sourced meat, as well as offering gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan meals. Breakfast fare ranges from acai bowls and free-range eggs on toast to big breakfasts including the Vegan Big Breakfast of vegan sausages, roast tomato, spinach, mushrooms, hash brown and toast.
Lunch items include burgers (beef, steak, chicken and vegan) and gourmet sandwiches like Cat Daddy with steak or haloumi, mixed lettuce, roasted tomato, feta and special sauce on sourdough topped with onion rings and sweet potato chips.
The café is also child-friendly with Kitty Kibbles Little Lunches: fish and chips, baked beans on toast and Cheshire Cat cheesy chunks (grilled cheese fingers). Drink-wise, there’s well-brewed Di Bella coffee, tea, hot chocolate, chai, milkshakes, thick shakes, smoothies and spiders.
Afterwards, visit the on-site op shop and pet superstore, World of Pets, with all profits going directly to animals in need.
The menu may have changed since our visit.
