Bear Boy Espresso
Windsor
Updated: Jul 20, 2025
Bear Boy Espresso is a chic and charming cafe perched on the end of Windsor's heritage-listed 1920's shopping strip Colwill Place.
The landmark building, which has recently been restored to its former glory, was built by flamboyant Arthur William Colwill with bricks from the demolished Centenary Hotel in Fortitude Valley. Not only was it the first shopping strip to have angle parking but it featured a mini golf course on the first floor and on the rooftop was a party pavilion and floodlit tennis courts with city views.

Customers can take a seat al fresco on the balcony or in the cosy light-filled interior and enjoy a well-brewed coffee and a delicious brunch from a seasonal menu.

On offer are Breaky Boy Tacos (soft breakfast tacos with soft fried eggs, avocado, hash, rocket & chipotle sour cream); Cinnamon Pancake with anglaise, caramelized appple & poached rhubarb; and Brisket Banga Sanga (slow cooked brisket, sriracha mayo, red cheddar & pickles).

For something more substantial there's Big Bear Benny (potato hash waffle, 2 poached eggs, Hollandaise & sauteed greens); Chilli Sacrambled Eggs with whipped ricotta & shallots on house sourdough); or Chicken & Waffles (buttermilk fried chicken, sweet waffle, poached egg & sriracha Hollandaise).

Drinks-wise, other than coffee (including a range of iced), customers can enjoy Mayde Organic Tea, Dominican Republic Drinking Chocolate; Prana chai latte; smoothies and shakes, Harvst pressed juices, probiotic kombucha or Somersault slow brew sodas.
Good to know - There's a 'Little bear' menu for under 12s with options like Baby Bear pancakes, eggs on toast, yoghurt honey fruit bowl and mini cheeseburger and chips.
Need to know - A small amount of free angle parking is available out front.
