Paddock Espresso

Grange

Updated: Feb 23, 2024

Grange's Paddock Espresso is one of a growing number of great little cafes found in the suburban back streets around Brisbane

Paddock Espresso Grange

Sisters Danielle and Aimee own this business where providing homely and healthy food options (based on whole foods where possible) and reducing highly processed foods are high priorities. Only the bread and fruit loaf are sourced from Sol Breads, with the remainder of the food on offer baked and created by the girls, in house. With both sisters having qualifications in food science/nutrition, customers can count on enjoying delicious offerings at Paddock Espresso. Why not try the leg ham and cheese toastie on light rye?  It's one of the most popular choices with regulars but there's a lot more to enjoy here. Cupcakes, jam drops, freckle cookies, orange and pistachio biscotti and fig, honey and chia muffins are just some of the treats you may find when you call in to this cafe. The roast macadamia and honey brownie is delicious and from the lunch menu, the green bean and asparagus salad with fresh chicken, feta and pine nuts is sure to be a hit in the warm weather.

Outdoor courtyard and seating next to white picket fence

To wash it all down visitors can choose from the Nudie range, Benchmark Coldpress coffee, tea, coffee or a Paddock Espresso special - the iced latte.  Staying true to their philosophy, the iced latte is made simply with a double shot of coffee, icy cold milk and ice - no cream, no ice cream. Bellisimo "Ultimo" coffee is served here, alongside alternating single origin beans. Decaf coffee is also available, giving customers a good variety or choices when it comes to their caffeine or no-caffeine fix.

Chocolate cake on a plate

Whilst there is a small eating area inside and table and chairs at the front of the cafe, the pretty little side courtyard is the place to be. Timber tables and chairs, large umbrellas and pots of colour (cleverly mounted on old wooden pallets) set the scene for a relaxing catch up with friends or an informal business meet up. Landscaped gardens give the area a cool feel and most times during the day you'll find a shady spot to sit and enjoy a break. All of this sits behind a white picket fence, giving the area a degree of privacy from the street. Inside, take a look at the artwork on display and for sale as these pieces are originals created by Aimee.
