Fortitude Valley

Halo Ground Coffee and Food in Fortitude Valley is a foodie's delight with an in-house pastry chef and top-notch seasonal fare served along with locally roasted Cleanskin coffee.

Located in the Valley's church precinct on Brookes Street, Halo Ground is a sibling for The Ground at Red Hill.  Found on the ground floor of an office building, this foyer cafe is sleek and modern with high-ceilings and touches of timber and marble.

The inclusive menu offers something for everyone including plenty of plant-based fare like the must-try mushrooms on toast - shiitake tapenade on rye with sautéed fresh mushrooms, broccoli chard, slow-fried organic tofu, puffed brown rice and roasted sesame emulsion.

Breakfast classics include avocado on rye toast, scrambled eggs and bacon croissants, and eggs benedict (double smoked bacon and marinated silver beet hash, poached eggs, fried potato jewels, and burnt butter and cider hollandaise), while sweet tooths will be satiated with apple and buttermilk soufflé pancakes with orange whipped ricotta, doce de leite and candied seeds.

Lunch options range from simple salads of fresh leaves with charred tomato and lightly pickled cucumber to felafel plates with house made felafel, flat bread, charred eggplant, pickled peppers, crunchy chickpeas and cultured yoghurt.

Otherwise, there's a sweet selection of house made treats on offer like lemon curd buns, cinnamon scrolls, chocolate tarts and vegan cakes.

Good to know - Halo Ground is licensed with craft beer on tap and a concise, carefully curated wine list.
